In this lesson, I’ve created a short, and overly simple, text in which a lot of the grammar topics we’ve learned from lessons 1-9 are utilized. It’s important to see grammar in context, in addition to using it yourself, to truly master it.
Привет всем! [Hello everyone! – in Russian it’s literally Hello to everyone!]
Я Адриан. Я из России. Мой любимый цвет [favorite color] – красный.
Кто я такой? Говорят, что [they or people say that] я добрый и заботливый [caring] человек.
По внешности [by appearance] я высокий и стройный [refers to athletic figure]. У меня светлые волосы, зелёные глаза и немного загорелая [tanned] кожа [skin].
Моя семья не очень большая. У меня есть брат и сестра. Мой брат добрый и ленивый [lazy], а сестра заботливая и добрая, как я.
Сейчас я студент. У меня нет работы. У меня есть лекции. У меня нет ни времени, ни денег [money]. Но, может быть [perhaps], однажды [someday] я буду богатым и успешным человеком.
I originally wanted to use this to describe my ideal woman, while we review what we’ve learned, but that would’ve required too complex constructions and vocabulary. Maybe in a later post.
