Thank you for visiting my blog. Before I go into detail, let me say thank you once more. A new reader, hopefully you are one, to my blog is always appreciated.
The purpose of this blog centers around Slavic languages, in particular, Russian. I love Slavic languages! They’re just so fun and lively. And, compared to other language groups such as Germanic, Romance, etc., this one is less studied and there tends to be less information about it on the Internet.
I’ve been studying Russian for many, many years with the intent of reaching full fluency and even maybe teaching the language one day. In order to do such a thing, I have jotted down numerous notes on my findings of the grammar, vocabulary and other aspects of this beautiful language. I also have to a lesser extent studied Ukrainian, Polish and Slovak.
There are a lot of Slavic languages besides Russian, Ukrainian, Polish and Slovak. We also have Belarussian, Bulgarian, Czech, Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian, Macedonian, etc. I have no intention of learning them all, but that would be a fun challenge to try!
Returning to Russian, the main focus of this blog will be on this language. I was originally going to title it My Russian Studies, but since there will occasionally be posts on other Slavic languages, I decided to title it My Slavic Studies.
With that in mind, if you’re a learner of Russian, this blog will serve you very well. And if you’re a learner of a different Slavic language, I’m sure there’ll still be something you’ll find interesting on this blog.
As I wrap up my first post, I’d like to leave you with a wonderful Russian proverb.
